Our Approach to Copyright
New Hardware respects the rights of creators and expects others to do the same. If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, you can send us a takedown notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The New Hardware Editorial Team reviews these notices carefully.
How to Send a Takedown Notice
Send your notice by email to legal@new-hardware.com. To be valid, it should include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
- The URL on New Hardware where the material appears.
- Your contact details, so we can reach you.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
What We Do After a Valid Notice
When we receive a notice that includes these items, we review it and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material. We may let the person who published it know that a notice was received. We may ask for more detail if something is unclear.
Counter-Notices
If you think material was removed by mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It should identify the removed material and where it appeared, state under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and include your contact details and signature. We may pass the counter-notice to the person who filed the original notice.
Repeat Infringers
We may end access for anyone who is found to repeatedly infringe copyright.
