What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website or service stores in your browser. They can remember a setting, recognize a return visit, or record where a visitor came from. Some are set by the site you are on, and others are set by outside services.

Cookies on New Hardware

The site itself does not set analytics cookies at the moment. It has no user accounts, no paid memberships, and no newsletter, and it does not show display ads at the moment. Comments are turned off, so there are no comment cookies either.

We use Google Search Console to see how the site appears in Google Search. It does not place cookies on your browser. The web host keeps standard server logs for security and troubleshooting, but logs are not cookies.

Affiliate Network Cookies

New Hardware earns commissions through affiliate links to Amazon. When you click one, the store or network may set its own cookie so that a purchase can be credited to our site. That cookie is set by Amazon, not by New Hardware, and it is covered by Amazon’s own policies. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains how these links work.

Blocking or Deleting Cookies

Most browsers let you block cookies, delete the ones already stored, or ask for a prompt before a site sets a new one. The settings are usually under privacy or security in your browser’s menu. Blocking cookies does not stop anyone from reading New Hardware, and the pages work the same way. It may, however, affect how a store site behaves after you click through.
