How We Choose Topics and Products
New Hardware covers saws, saw blades, and shop and metalworking tools. Our editorial team chooses topics based on three things: whether the subject will be useful to readers, whether people are searching for it, and whether the products involved are actually available to buy. A guide to a tool that nobody can find in stores would not help anyone.
The site publishes information, buying guides, and product listings. It does not sell products. Every page is written by the New Hardware Editorial Team, which is a team and not a single author.
How We Research
Our research draws on manufacturer specifications, public product information, and aggregated buyer feedback. We read what the maker says a tool does, check that against other public listings, and look at what owners report across many reviews. That mix helps us see both the intended performance and the common complaints.
We don’t test products ourselves. There is no lab and no hands-on testing behind our pages. What you read is a careful comparison of published information and owner feedback, and we describe it that way.
How Drafts Are Written and Reviewed
We use AI writing tools to help prepare drafts. This is a normal part of our process. Before anything is published, the New Hardware Editorial Team reviews the draft, checks it against the source material, and edits it for accuracy and clarity.
The review step is where we catch unclear wording, mismatched specifications, and claims that the sources do not support. Nothing goes live without it.
Affiliate Links and Independence
New Hardware earns affiliate commissions through links to Amazon. Those commissions never decide what we recommend, and they do not change how we describe a product. A tool earns a place in a guide because the specifications and owner feedback support it.
You can read the full explanation in our Affiliate Disclosure. Our About Us page also describes how the site is funded.
Reviews and Updates
Product details change. Prices move, models are replaced, and manufacturers revise their specifications. We revisit pages when we notice changes or when readers point out problems, and we update the content to match what is currently published by the manufacturer and stores.
We cannot promise that every page reflects the latest change the moment it happens, so please check the store listing for current details before you buy.
Reporting an Error
If you find a mistake, please write to editorial@new-hardware.com. Include the page address and a short note about what looks wrong. We review each report and correct the page when the report holds up. For other questions, use the Contact Us page.
